Who's Who - Teaching Staff

Mr Hamilton took over as Principal of Moyle Primary School and Nursery Unit in September 2017, after previously working as Principal of Sunnylands Primary School in Carrickfergus, for nearly six years. Mr Hamilton is committed to working alongside the excellent staff at Moyle to continue building upon the excellent standard of education in the school in a caring supportive environment. Mr Hamilton chairs the Senior Leadership Team.

As well as her Vice-Principal duties, Mrs Mann teaches LSC 2 oversees the Learning Support Centre and is the schools Special Educational Needs Coordinator, SENCO. Mrs Mann is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Mrs Ford-Hutchinson is a former pupil of Moyle Primary School and is the second generation of her family to teach at the school. As well as teaching Primary 7 Mrs Ford Hutchinson heads up the Literacy team, oversees Key Stage 2 and looks after assessment for the whole school. Mrs Ford-Hutchinson is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
As well as teaching our Learning Support 1 class Mrs Greer is Deputy Child Protection Officer and helps Miss Higginson to look after the Pastoral Care aspects of school life.
Miss Blain teaches our two Nursery classes, a morning class and an afternoon class and is one of our Deputy Designated Teachers for Child Protection and a member of our Pastoral Team.
Miss Higginson teaches P1 and heads up Pastoral Care within Moyle Primary School. As part of that role she is Designated Teacher for Child Protection and is helped by Mrs Greer to ensure there are lots of caring and fun interventions for our children in school. Miss Higginson is also Head of Foundation Stage and a is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Mrs Webster is from Northern Ireland but taught in Scotland for a few years before returning to Northern Ireland to teach at Moyle Primary School. Mrs Webster is currently on maternity leave and is being covered by Mrs Campbell (formerly Miss McCullough).

Mrs Johnston loves organising outside play within Foundation Stage and teaching P2.
Mrs Coleman has taught at Moyle Primary School for her whole teaching career and coaches the school hockey team. (Mrs Coleman is on maternity leave and is being covered by Miss McIlwee)
Mrs Ames teaches P3 in Moyle Primary School having been a member of Moyle staff since she left college. Mrs Ames has been part of our pastoral work in the school for many years and recently changed her responsibility to look after Personal Development and Mutual Understanding (PDMU).

Mrs Simpson, oversees Key Stage 1 (P3 and 4) and heads up the Numeracy team within Moyle as well as teaching P3. Mrs Simpson is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Mr Childs is part of Moyle teaching staff in 21/22 for the year and has recently trained as a teacher, having worked in Zoology in the past. He loves animals and enthuses his pupils about the World Around Us.
Mrs Duncan teaches P4 and leads our Pupil Council. Mrs McKay will be teaching P4 on a Wednesday.
Mrs Martin teaches P5 and coordinates PE in Moyle Primary School and loves to get new equipment for our pupils to enjoy.
Mrs Barr teaches P5 three days a week and is part of the school’s Pastoral team.
Mrs Saunders will teach P5 on Thursdays and Fridays.
Miss Curran teaches P6 and looks after Art within Moyle Primary School, organising competitions and making sure the teachers have exciting displays on their walls.

Mr Crowe joined the team at Moyle in August 2019 returning to Northern Ireland after training in England. He has experience of working in schools in East Antrim in various capacities and takes the school football team.

Miss Wallace looks after our music within the school as well as teaching Primary 7.

Mrs McKeown is a former pupil of Moyle and as well as teaching LSC3 heads up the World Around Us throughout the school. Mrs McKeown works three days per week, Mondays - Wednesdays.
Mrs McMillan is a gold medal winner, representing Team GB and NI at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in Swimming. She also returns to the staff at Moyle PS after teaching Learning Support 1 for approximately 18 months. Mrs McMillan will teach LSC3 on Thursdays and Fridays.
