Welcome to P1
My name is Mrs Scott, and I am the class teacher. I work alongside Mrs McRandal who is our classroom assistant.
In P1, every day is extremely busy and full of exciting learning opportunities! Learning in P1 is practical and hands-on, with lots of games and resources to make learning fun. We aim to keep pupils active and often take learning outdoors.
Play inside and outside the classroom is a vital part of every child’s development. Pupils investigate the world around them through our exciting topics. Our first topic is ‘Marvellous Me’, where pupils learn about themselves, their families, and what makes them unique. Other topics include Autumn & Winter, Spring & Minibeasts and Down on the Farm. Although we have four general themes, children’s interests lead the learning. Our overarching theme of nature and the changing seasons runs throughout the year.
Learning in P1 is fun, active, and engaging—so much so that children often don’t even realise they’re learning!
